Chinese Camp: What Are the Benefits and Advantages?

Chinese Camp is one of the best ways to make children’s holidays more meaningful.

A summer camp is an exciting and highly beneficial idea to fill children’s semester break. Typically held during the summer vacation, summer camps come in various forms, one of which includes traveling to another country. This type of non-formal learning activity aims to provide new experiences outside of school and home.

The purpose of a summer camp are:

  • Developing social skills, independence, and leadership
  • Stimulating creativity
  • Building self-confidence
  • Fostering responsibility
  • Expanding knowledge, mindset, and networks
  • Introducing local cultural richness

Summer camp activities usually include learning the local language of the destination country, exploring its culture, engaging in talent and interest development activities, visiting universities, and sightseeing iconic locations. These activities also offer a glimpse into what it’s like to live abroad for a period of time. For students considering studying overseas, a summer camp experience can help them assess themselves and the environment they may choose before making a long-term study decision.

Recognizing the importance and benefits of summer camps, GROW is organizing a Chinese Camp in the summer of 2025, with Taiwan as the destination. This 14-day program, taking place from June 18 to July 1, 2025, was chosen because Taiwan has become one of the preferred study destinations for Indonesian students. The country offers more scholarship opportunities compared to others and provides students with better chances to work part-time or build a career in the future.

The Chinese Camp in Taiwan will feature exciting activities such as learning Mandarin for two weeks through engaging experiences, exploring local culture, visiting the capital city Taipei along with three other cities (Changhua, Yunlin, and Taichung), taking campus tours at four universities, and discovering Taiwan’s famous attractions—including night markets and its iconic bubble tea scene.

What makes this Chinese Camp unique is the opportunity for students to experience life as a local. The two-week intensive Mandarin lessons will be held directly on campus, where participants will stay in dormitories and live like international students. Exciting, isn’t it?

So what are you waiting for? Sign up now and experience life as a local in Taiwan for two weeks at a special price!
