Are you a prospective student who wants to study in Taiwan and become fluent in Mandarin? Or is your chosen major only available in Mandarin, but you don’t yet have a TOCFL A2 certificate? Don’t worry! Taiwan now offers a 1+4 program, also known as the International Foundation Program (IFP).
This program is an educational pathway that combines 1 year of Mandarin language learning and 4 years of undergraduate study in the major selected during registration. In the first year after studying Mandarin, students are required to pass the TOCFL A2 exam. This program is designed to prepare international students with the language skills and knowledge needed to succeed in undergraduate studies in Taiwan. It provides a strong foundation for students to pursue a bachelor’s degree in various fields and helps them adapt to the academic environment in Taiwan. The program also offers various scholarships to support students financially, and you can also take part-time jobs starting from the first year.
